Just as I and my family have, I’m sure you struggled in one way or another during the 2020 turmoil.

Maybe you lost a loved one or a friend to the pandemic.

As I’m writing this, my good friend’s funeral is tomorrow. He contracted Coronavirus and death came soon after.

Even if you were spared tragic loss like this, you may be suffering other hardships like; quarantine, loss of job, loss of income and of course the emotional stress which comes with the unknown.

And now, 2121 is here! Maybe we can begin again!

Max Lucado shares some enlightening and encouraging news about how to approach the new year. I believe you’ll find it helpful as I did. Let’s watch together and see if God has a message for us today…

Genesis chapters 6-9 tell us the story of Noah and the ark. I’m sure you heard at least a part of the famous Bible passage growing up.

He touches on the fact that Noah had nothing left but his family. Read these few verses from Genesis as a reminder..

“Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth.

Then God said to Noah, “The end of humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.

Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with compartments, and cover it inside and out with pitch.” – Genesis 6:11-14 NASB

God Brings Hope – Where Hopelessness Reigned

Max Lucado
“..you may be suffering other hardships like; quarantine, loss of job, loss of income and of course the emotional stress..

In his message, Max Lucado talks about the hopelessness of Noah when the dove he sent out found no dry land.

And then, he alludes this situation to ours. We may feel a sense of hopelessness during times of quarantines, financial difficulties and even death.

But, God offers hope through all these things. Remember what He did when Noah thought all was lost? Let’s read this passage..

But God remembered Noah and all the animals and all the livestock that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided.” – Genesis 8-1-2 NASB

So, just as God subsided the waters for Noah, He’ll work through this dreadful pandemic.

If we provide the faith, God provides His strength and direction.

Pray – read your Bible and God will reveal Himself to you.

I’m so thankful for Max Lucado and his message of hope we can all use right now. Let’s pray and trust God to do what’s best for us — even though we may not always see the final outcome.

In Christ,

Bob
