Revelation
5:6
The
Scroll of the Lamb
(Continued)
-
5:6
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if
it had been slain, standing in
the center of the throne,
encircled by the four living
creatures and the elders.
He had
seven horns and seven eyes, which
are the seven spirits of God sent
out into all the
earth.
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is
meant to change the way that we
think, and the way that we live.

More
about the Lamb and
Scroll
Revelation
pictures Christ as both the Lion
and the Lamb. The latter to pay
the price for the sins of mankind
and the first to end the battle
and defeat evil
forever.
The Lamb in
this verse appears to be slain
showing the results of Jesus'
wounds from the trial and the
cross. Christ died as the
ultimate sacrificial Lamb of God
so that we could be saved from
death and sin.
How can
Jesus be both Lamb and Lion?
Although He was sacrificed on the
cross and was humble before God
He was in no way, weak. The horns
mentioned here stand for power
and strength (1 Kings 22:11 and
Zechariah 1:18).
The seven
eyes are explained as seven lamps
and the one Spirit as in
Zechariah 4:2-10.
Now we are
beginning to see the majesty and
revelation of God and His Son,
Jesus Christ. Let's give Him the
glory He deserves!
