Revelation
1:1-3
Letters

Churches

1:1
The revelation of Jesus Christ,
which God gave him to show his
servants what must soon take
place.
He made
it known by sending his angel to
his servant John,
2
who
testifies to everything he
sawthat is, the word of God
and the testimony of Jesus
Christ.
3
Blessed is the one who reads the
words of this prophecy, and
blessed are those who hear it and
take to heart what is written in
it, because the time is
near.
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is
meant to change the way that we
think, and the way that we live.

The
Letters to the
Churches
Today we
begin a new subject of study.
Revelation is an extraordinary
book because it tells both future
and present, God's judgment and
His mercy, and, most of all,
about the return of our savior,
Jesus Christ.
I am
excited to help present these
chapters to you because they will
show us the hope and the victory
of good over evil.
If you look
at the world today, evil abounds;
daily murders; robberies;
beatings and rapes, but God and
Jesus will be victorious over all
these things and will set the
world in order as John describes
to us.
The
hymn, "Victory in Jesus" ,
tells the same story we are about
to read.
Many people
believe that Revelation is a
scary book to read but we don't
have to be afraid if we are on
the side of the winner.
God is
definitely going to pass judgment
on all of us so Revelation asks
that we prepare for that day of
judgment now and live a life
according to our Christian belief
"because the time is
near".
