Matthew 28:1-10
Jesus
Rises From the Grave
Matthew
28:1 Now after the
Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day
of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came
to look at the grave.
2 And behold, a severe
earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord
descended from heaven and came and rolled away the
stone and sat upon it.
3 And his appearance was like
lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4 The guards shook for fear
of him and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the
women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are
looking for Jesus who has been crucified.
6 "He is not here, for He has
risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where
He was lying.
7 "Go quickly and tell His
disciples that He has risen from the dead; and
behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee,
there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."
8 And they left the tomb
quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report
it to His disciples.
9 And behold, Jesus met them
and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of
His feet and worshiped Him.
10 Then Jesus said to them,
"Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren
to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me."
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to change
the way that we think, and the way that we live.

The Risen
Christ
You most likely have heard
the story of the resurrection and how Jesus rose
from the dead just as I have.
But, I thought I'd look to
see if there was anything else that could be
brought out of this Easter story. With just a bit
of research from the Life Application Study Bible I
found something interesting to share with
you.
It mentions four lessons to
be learned from Christ's rising from the tomb. Here
is a summary of these lessons ...
First: Don't be
Afraid
We should be joyous in the
risen Christ, not feel fear of what He has become.
When we fear the uncertainty of death, we should
think of how Christ arose from the dead and we will
too when we believe in Him.
Second: He is Not
Here
Jesus is not found among the
dead but among the living. He lives within us as
our personal guide through every day and every
challenge.
Third: Come
See
The angel had rolled the
stone away from the tomb so that the women, and
anyone else could see that Jesus was not there and
the grave was empty, just as it still is today. All
we have to do is accept.
Fourth:
Tell
In verse 7 the angel said;
"Then go quickly and tell His disciples:..". He
told the women to spread the good news about the
resurrection of Christ just as Jesus commanded us
to tell others about the eternal life He offers us.
Jesus did everything He
promised He would do for us. How much are we
willing to give back to Him? Our time? Our lives?
Our funds? Our relationship with others within and
outside the church?

27:57-66 - Jesus is Laid in the Tomb with Guards
Posted
- After Jesus was crucified He was taken to a
borrowed tomb for burial and a guard was placed at
the entrance of the grave. But, we know He didn't
stay there. The Easter saga continues.
