Great Commission
of Christ
".. make disciples of all
nations .."
Bible Study Lesson --
Matthew 28:16-20
This is the one commandment
most Christians know, but don't always do
(including myself) but let's go through this
Bible study lesson in Matthew about Jesus
giving the great commission to His
disciples... and to
us.
Jesus Gives Disciples the Great
Commission
Matthew
28:16 But the eleven
disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain
which Jesus had designated.
17 When they saw Him, they
worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
18 And Jesus came up and
spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 "Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe
all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age."
This
is the Word of the Lord: It is meant to change the
way we think, and the way we live.

Great Commission - No Longer
Just for the Jews
Jesus' last words before He
ascended back to heaven. Don't you believe they
were chosen very carefully?
If you were going away and
leaving behind those you love today what would you
say to them? Something profound, I'm
sure.
Jesus Says
..
Christ felt it was of the
greatest importance to direct His disciples to
..
- preach
- baptize
- and make new
disciples of "all nations", not just the
Jews as previously done.
A Direct Commandment to
Christians
We have that same commission
as Christians. We may not be as fervent as the
disciples in telling others about Jesus but our
mission is the same.
Message for All
People
After the great commission,
now included are all people of the world including
Jews, Hindu, Muslim and all other beliefs.
We need to tell others what
Christ did for us and that he died for their sins
too so that they can be saved by believing in Him.
A tall task and many people will reject the message
but we should still try to expose them to the
truth.
While writing this, I ask
myself; who will I see and talk to today who is
lost. Who will you see?
