Mark 4:26-29
Jesus
Explains the Parable of the
Seed
4:26
And He was saying, "The kingdom of God is like a
man who casts seed upon the soil;
27 and he goes to bed at
night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and
grows--how, he himself does not know.
28 "The soil produces
crops by itself; first the blade, then the head,
then the mature grain in the head.
29 "But when the crop
permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because
the harvest has come."

This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to
change the way that we think, and the way that
we live.

Spiritual
Growth
The kingdom of God, Jesus
explains, is akin to that of a seed. It starts as a
beginning and, without us knowing how or why, grows
to maturity and then is harvested.
What Does This Mean to
Us?
Growing spiritually for us is
similar to how a seed grows. It proceeds slowly,
taking one process at a time, until we are finally
mature enough to be harvested by God to become a
part of His kingdom.
Rush, Rush,
Rush
Everybody is in a hurry to
get there and many stop growing in Christ before
they reach maturity. I sometimes find myself in
that situation. I want to understand it all,
now.
But, if we listen to
Scripture, we should take our time and grow at a
steady pace so that we better understand what God
wants us to do.
Let's take a moment of pause
to see where we are - and where we need to be in
our spiritual life. And, if all else fails, ask
God.
