Mark 16:19-20
Jesus
Ascends into Heaven
( Easter
Story )
16:19
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was
taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand
of God.
20
Then the disciples went out and preached
everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and
confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied
it.
-
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to
change the way that we think, and the way that
we live.

Christ Rises into
Heaven
A fitting conclusion to this
Easter story, don't you think?
Although Jesus had the power
of the universe He chose to serve others.
Christ's' idea of power was
not the same as our shortsighted human
understanding. He did not bully, put down others,
or use His power to have authority over other
humans (although He did possess it).
Let's look at Jesus'
ministry
- He healed the
sick
- He had compassion
for the suffering of others
- He taught
relentlessly to help others to understand the
will of God
- He loved little
children and talked with them and held them
in His arms
- He washed the feet
of His disciples
- He died to take on
the sin of the world so that we might be
saved and not separated from
God
- Jesus
served
Just as Christ served others
in His short time on earth, we are called to follow
Him, to serve Him, and to serve each
other.
We must swallow our pride and
present the world with our true power which comes
from Christ within us. This is the power given in
order to serve our fellow human beings.
