John
1:1-18
Believe
and Receive
1:1
In the
beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
2 He was with
God in the beginning.
3 Through him
all things were made; without him
nothing was made that has been
made.
4 In him was
life, and that life was the light
of men.
5 The light
shines in the darkness, but the
darkness has not understood it.
6 There came a
man who was sent from God; his
name was John.
7 He came as a
witness to testify concerning
that light, so that through him
all men might believe.
8 He himself
was not the light; he came only
as a witness to the light.
9 The true
light that gives light to every
man was coming into the world.
10 He was in
the world, and though the world
was made through him, the world
did not recognize him.
11 He came to
that which was his own, but his
own did not receive him.
12 Yet to all
who received him, to those who
believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of
God 13 children born not of
natural descent, nor of human
decision or a husband's will, but
born of God.
14 The Word
became flesh and made his
dwelling among us. We have seen
his glory, the glory of the One
and Only, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John
testifies concerning him. He
cries out, saying, "This was he
of whom I said, 'He who comes
after me has surpassed me because
he was before me.' "
16 From the
fullness of his grace we have all
received one blessing after
another.
17 For the law
was given through Moses; grace
and truth came through Jesus
Christ.
18 No one has
ever seen God, but God the One
and Only, who is at the Father's
side, has made him
known.

This
is the Word of the Lord ... It
is meant to change the way
that we think, and the way
that we live.

Believe
and Receive: The ABC's of
Salvation
- Anyone
who welcomes Christ as their
Lord and savior will be reborn
spiritually, receiving a new
life from God -- A life that
is everlasting.
-
- When we
embrace faith in Christ, this
new birth will change us from
the inside out -- changing our
attitudes, desires, and
motives. We are then set on a
path to try to do more of what
God wants us to do in this
life. It is an exhilarating
feeling when Christ comes into
your heart.
-
- When
you are first born this just
means that you are physically
alive and are placed in your
parents family (John 1:13).
-
- Being
born of God, on the other
hand, means that your are now
spiritually alive and now you
are a part of God's family
(John 1:12).
-
- Have
you taken that step and asked
Jesus to make you into a new
person?
-
- The
fresh start in life mentioned
above is available to all who
believe in Christ.
-
- How can
you become a member of God's
family?
-
- Just
follow the method below. These
are simple first steps but the
change you experience will be
awesome !!
-
The ABC
formula for salvation
-
- Admit
you are a sinner and can't
save yourself.
-
- Believe
that Jesus died on the cross,
was buried and rose
again.
-
- Choose
to receive the Lord Jesus as
your Savior, knowing He will
forgive your sins and make you
His child.
-
- If you
feel you are ready to take
these first steps in accepting
Jesus as your personal savior,
below is a prayer to God
showing your intent.
-
- You can
pray this prayer alone, in
church, with a minister or a
friend; it doesn't matter
where you pray.
-
- "Dear
Lord Jesus, I admit that I
have sinned; I believe You
died on the cross for me;
right now I choose to receive
You as my Savior; Thank you
for coming to live in me: and
for forgiving all my sin; in
Jesus' name,
Amen."
