The 10 Commandments of
God - The Ninth Commandment
There are two parts involved
in giving false testimony.
In the days of Moses, God
wanted the Israelites to have an effective legal
system so that the country could survive as a
nation. Lying in court breaks down a society and
could lead to destruction of the
country.
We take an oath when we
testify in court today but it is just as important
to tell the whole truth in our personal dealings
with others.
Honesty is the best policy to
coin a phrase. There is an old saying that goes
..
"If you lie to me once, I
will put a question mark at the end of everything
you say from now on."
We all give false testimony
at one time or another but let's be aware of this
ninth commandment of God and do our best to keep
it. It's important for our nation and for our
Christian presence.
