Ecclesiastes 6:7-10
Wishful
Thinking
6:7
All man's efforts are for his mouth, yet his
appetite is never satisfied.
8
What advantage has a wise man over a fool? What
does a poor man gain by knowing how to conduct
himself before others?
9
Better what the eye sees than the roving of the
appetite. This too is meaningless, a chasing after
the wind.
10
Whatever exists has already been named, and what
man is has been known; no man can contend with one
who is stronger than he.
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to change
the way that we think, and the way we live.

Hopes and
Wishes
If you are like me, you have
spent many wasted hours of your youth in wishful
thinking - wanting for things you had no way of
obtaining. I know that I have dreamed about success
and material things and the wish didn't get me one
step closer to satisfaction in life.
Wishes or
God?
Remember that God is in
control of everything that happens on this earth,
even though it's not always easy to believe that He
does. We can blow out all the birthday candles,
find a four leaf clover, wish all we want but what
are we going to gain? And, how foolish is it to
oppose our Creator? He knows the future. -- Our
future!
