Ecclesiastes
7:15-18
Can
You be Too Good ?
-
7:15
In this meaningless life of mine I have
seen both of these:
a righteous man
perishing in his righteousness,
and a wicked man
living long in his wickedness.
16
Do not be overrighteous,
neither be
overwise
why destroy
yourself?
17
Do not be overwicked,
and do not be a
fool
why die before
your time?
18
It is good to grasp the one
and not let go of
the other.
- The man who
fears God will avoid all extremes
.
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to
change the way that we think, and the way
that we live.

Can a Person Try
to be Too Good? The Difference between
religion and worship
The questions is;
"Can a person be too good?". The answer,
according to Ecclesiastes, is
yes.
This brings to mind
some things that have happened in my on
community when it comes to spiritual
views. We have churches here who worship
conservatively and some whose congregation
dances in the isles. Some churches believe
their particular church is the only avenue
into heaven and all the others are
heretics and hypocrites. Which way is the
right way?
In my personal
opinion, the way we worship and the
rituals we practice are not nearly as
important as the reason we worship.
We are worshiping to honor and talk to
God, not to please ourselves or put on a
show for others to see.
I know, I know, a
little off the subject but had to release
this feeling.
Be careful not to be
too conceited in your faith or too wicked
and you should be just fine.
We are human beings.
God knows this. He knows our weaknesses
and strengths. He knows every thought we
have, good or bad. We don't need to put on
an act for Him so why do it for
others?
Be yourself but
aspire to be more like Christ. This is all
God asks of you.
