Ecclesiastes 2:12-16
Meaningless
Wisdom and Folly
or
Death -
The Great Equalizer
-
2:12
Then I turned my thoughts to consider wisdom,
and also madness and
folly.
What more can the king's
successor do
than what has already been
done?
13
I saw that wisdom is better than folly,
just as light is better
than darkness.
14
The wise man has eyes in his head,
while the fool walks in
the darkness;
but I came to realize
that the same fate
overtakes them both.
15
Then I thought in my heart,
"The fate of the fool will
overtake me also.
What then do I gain by
being wise?"
I said in my heart,
"This too is meaningless."
16
For the wise man, like the fool, will not be long
remembered;
in days to come both will
be forgotten.
Like the fool, the wise
man too must die!
This
is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to change
the way that we think, and the way that we live.

Everyone Must
Die
The equalizer ... Sounds like
a great title for an action/adventure movie,
doesn't it?
Well, from a worldly view
death is the great equalizer. Whether a person is a
murderer or a saint, in the end both must
die.
This is not meant to depress
you or to scare you, just to state a proven fact
that all of us must someday leave this
world.
But, with God, when all is
taken (even our lives here on earth), we still have
Him if we have accepted Christ as our Lord and
Savior. In fact, our eternity begins there with
death just becoming a transition point between
earth and heaven. Isn't that a wonderful
thought?
When all is said and done,
God is all we really need and He can have a
tremendous impact on our lives here on earth during
this short time.
Christ commissioned us to go
and make new disciples of all nations so this is
the best we can offer to our fellow citizens -- The
gift of eternal life through Jesus
Christ.
Don't let your life soar by
without the meaning that comes from knowing God
personally. Use your time to honor God and you will
find true meaning and joy that can never be gained
through wisdom or folly.
