Ecclesiastes 8:15

How to Enjoy Life

8:15 So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad.

Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun.

This is the Word of the Lord ... It is meant to change the way that we think, and the way that we live.

Commentary by Bob Pardue

Solomon recommends joy in life

One of the toughest things for me to do is just to sit back during the work day, relax and enjoy the moment. How about you?

I am like many pseudo "workaholics" who thinks that every moment of every day should be productive so I really have to force myself to take a break from the hourly struggles of work.

Joy is the solution

Solomon says that joy is a solution to many of life's unanswered questions. He suggests that we should embrace joy and encouragement to help us to be more content in this hard life we're living.

Joy gives more meaning to life

If we can find joy in the things we do every day then our lives will have more joy and meaning. If we have more joy and meaning then we are more prepared to accomplish more of what God has in store for our lives.

Experience some joy in your life today

Sit back and experience the joy of the moment and, while you're in that joyous state, ask God what He would like for you to do today. There is a good chance His plan will differ from yours. d:-)
