Robert J. ONeal
New Pastor Excited
About Planting Churches
Hailing from the
land of gators and Disney, Rob ONeal
is the most recent addition to the
Wooddale pastoral staff. Rob, who has been
called as Wooddales Church Planting
Pastor, grew up in Florida surrounded by
lakes, the ocean, Disney World, orange
trees and tourists.
He left Florida
following graduation from Stetson
University to attend Princeton Theological
Seminary, where he earned a Master of
Divinity degree.
Prior to coming to
Wooddale, Rob was Senior Pastor of First
Baptist Church of Lancaster, South
Carolina for six years. His pastoral
experience also includes serving as
Minister of Education and Administration
at First Baptist Church of DeLand, Florida
for three years and Associate Pastor of
Kathwood Baptist Church in Columbia, South
Carolina for three years.
Rob says, I
first felt the call into ministry when I
was in second grade. I knew from the time
I was in high school that I was headed for
the pastorate and stuck to that course now
for 20 years.
Coming to the land
of 10,000 lakes and 30,000 frostbites is a
change for the ONeals, but
theyre excited about it. God
has given me a passion for introducing
people to Christ, Rob says,
and I know that church planting is
one of the best ways to see new Christians
made.
Church planting
seems to be a good fit for me as well. I
love starting things. I love the idea of
seeing God make something new. I love the
idea of being with a group of church
leaders in 20 years and saying with them,
I remember when you were a brand new
Christian. Wooddale Church is also
an obvious draw. Wooddale is a leader in
church planting and is a selfless, giving
church.
Rob is also
enthusiastic about Wooddale.
Wooddale is a place of incredible
integrity, he says. It is hard
to find churches with a passion for the
Kingdom that is as big as their passion
for building one particular church.
Wooddales commitment to starting
daughter churches puts her in a league of
her own. Wooddale is also a place of
uncompromising quality. You can see that
in every detail from the way the building
is maintained to the way you are greeted
when you walk in the front door. I love
that commitment.
Robs first day
as Church Planting Pastor was September
1st.
Be sure to welcome
him, his wife Tammi, and sons James and
Jonathan to the Wooddale
family.
I will miss Rob and his family but I am
sure God has a plan for him as well as
First Baptist Church so I pray that he
will be happy and successful in Wooddale.
