Holiday Song
Memories And Christmas Music

What Would The Holidays Be
Without Christmas Music?
-
-
There are many great things
about the holidays, and for me, one of the best is
the Christmas music that my mom would get out, dust
off, and play during the weeks leading up to the
25th of December.
If she wasnt playing
music, she was singing on her own. This always made
the holidays a bit more exciting, and is probably
why I love to do the same things each year for my
little girl. Music has the power to bring back
memories and feelings from long ago, and this is no
exception.
Christmas Music From
Childhood
Some of my favorite Christmas
music is the stuff that I listened to as a child.
My grandmother and my mom both had old albums that
they loved to play from artist that I had never
heard of. That didnt really matter, and still
doesnt.
Some of the older songs are
still by far the best, and there is really no
reason to give it up. Musical tastes and trends may
change, but those classic songs are still popular
around the holidays, and for very good reason. You
may not find these on albums any longer, but most
have been re-released on CD.
There are some newer types of
Christmas music that we love as well. My daughter
loves the Wiggles, and they have quite a few
Christmas DVDs and CDs that we play each year.
Some of these songs are the
classics that we love, and some of them are song
that were written by the Wiggles. These songs are
often fun, and the classics sound great when sung
by Greg Page. These Wiggles CDs full of Christmas
music will remain in my home longer after she has
outgrown loving the Wiggles, simply because I love
them so much.
Holiday Songs At The
Mall
You often hear Christmas
music when shopping, or doing other things around
the holidays. This is because it gets customers in
the spirit, and they tend to spend more. However,
you should just enjoy it for what it is, even if
your shopping is all done for the year.

A Quick Christmas
Music Tip
If you are planning
a holiday occasion to share with friends
and family, try turning the television off
for awhile.
Play some lovely
Christmas music instead.

You will see what a difference
the songs really do make.
Memory is closely tied to
songs. For many people, some of the most powerful
and inspirational feelings come from warm memory of
the holiday season. Christmas music is a valuable
part of this well-loved time of year. The holiday
songs are endearing and they evoke many emotions
and fond memories.
Share Holiday Songs And
Celebrate - A Christmas Story
Make sure that you keep the
tradition of sharing Christmas music during your
holiday celebrations. This seems to be a dying
practice among many families. Last year, we visited
my sister-in-laws home for the holidays. She
had all of the elements of a great celebration but
no Christmas music.
While the evergreen tree was
decorated to the finest detail and the lights were
sparkling with charm, the absence of Christmas
music was quite pronounced. She had made several of
our favorite holiday dishes and the gathering was
nearly perfect but there was definitely something
missing.
At first, my husband and I
didnt realize why the party fell flat. There
was good company and good food. The decorations
were lovely and everyone enjoyed sharing stories
while watching the kids open their presents.
However, we left with an empty feeling that
couldnt be explained.
The guests wandered around
most of the evening. The kids mostly played video
games and some attendants watched television. The
occasional conversation was interrupted with
commercials and some channel surfing. We
hadnt realized that the absence of Christmas
music was a factor in these
distractions.
We thought that the new
tradition of going to my sister-in-laws home
for the holidays was the reason that we were
feeling a little deflated. After all, we had gone
to his parents home for years and years. But
his parents were in attendance and they seemed a
little let down, too. No one could put a finger on
why there was the odd feeling that something very
important was missing.
Christmas Music
Makes All The Difference
It wasnt until I went
to another holiday affair that I realized what the
significant difference between the events really
was. There was no Christmas music. The absence of
the holiday songs may not seem like a big deal but
it makes a huge difference. The other celebration
was warm and inviting and the Christmas music
helped create an atmosphere fit for a grand event.
You may find memories from
your childhood holidays coming back to you, and it
can remind you of what you want the holidays to be
for your own children. The magic of Christmas is
not often in the gifts, but instead, in the small
details, love of family, and the Christmas music
that you hear each year.
