Thoughtful holiday presents don’t always come wrapped in colorful paper. Although many families are having to cut back there is still that excitement of travel in the air. Here are some popular Christmas gifts to consider, some expensive, some not so you can decide where your budget takes you.

I recall a few years back when my family thought it would be a great idea to draw names from a hat for Christmas. The concept basically derived from a desperate attempt to save money. We would each draw one name from a hat, and then we would only be obligated to buy that particular person a Christmas gift. Sounds cool, right?

 Well, as simple as it sounds, I had to get my aunt’s name, who I hardly even know. What in the world was I going to get her? What were some popular Christmas gifts that would surely hit the spot?

I didn’t want to be one of those cheese balls with a festive sweater that would go straight to the garbage. So, I searched online and found a wide selection of presents for women in her age group. These were unique and cost effective so I had money left to consider adventurous Christmas vacations for my family.

Now, I couldn’t give this to my aunt of course. They may include something that the recipient has wanted to do for a long time, such as going up in a hot air balloon or driving a race car. Adventure packs are popular with people wanting a challenge. So, we are considering travel this year and I’ll have to wrap up the aunt’s presents again this year!
